Capital ship was a general term that referred to any armed military starship that had a length greater than one hundred meters. Ships of this class ranged from small and nimble corvettes such as the CR90 to the large MC80 star cruiser. CR90 corvettes, also known as Corellian corvettes, or blockade runners, were consular vessels manufactured by the Corellian engineering corporation. Although the ships were not built mainly as carriers, it can attach up to 3 A-wings on the docking rings as an escort.
The EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate manufactured by Kuat Drive Yards, was a frigate that was often used as convoy escorts. An example of an Nebulon-B frigate can be seen in Star Wars Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back. The final Capital ship that I will write about is the MC80 star cruiser, more commonly known as the Mon Cal star cruisers. The MC80s were battlecruisers used by the Rebel Alliance. The role was much like an Imperial Star Destroyer. A famous example of a MC80 would be the main flagship used in the battle of Yavin, Home One.
T-65B X-wing starfighters were manufactured by the Incom Corporation. They had two pairs of wing-like S-foils, mounted at the rear of the craft on opposite sides. Each of the four engines were attached to the wings next to the fuselage. Normally the foils on each side locked in place flush against each other; during combat, however, the foils were folded out. This gave the craft its distinctive "X"-like appearance when viewed from the front or rear and the name X-Wing. The X-Wing was the successor of the Clone Wars Era Z-95 headhunter and the ARC-170 starfighter.
The BTL Y- wing starfighter was a fighter-bomber built by Koensayr Manufacturing. The Y-wings were first used in the Clone Wars and later in the Galactic Civil War. The Y-wing was one of the main starfighters used by the Alliance Starfighter Corps. It was often used as an assault bomber to attack enemy capital ships.
The A/SF-01 B-wing starfighter, commonly referred to as the B-wing or Blade Wing, was a heavily armed Rebel Alliance single-pilot starfighter. The B-wing was manufactured by Slayn and Korpil. The B-wing saw action during the Galactic Civil War and it was substituted by the B-wing Mark 2.
The RZ-1 A-wing interceptor was a wedge-shaped starfighter manufactured by Kuat Systems Engineering. The A-wing took design inspiration from Republic starfighters of the Clone Wars. They were used by the Rebel Alliance and they were used during the Galactic civil war. The A-wings can be mounted on a CR90 corvette through attachments on the docking clamps. After its creation, the Empire made a counter part; the TIE interceptor.
